Athens for a weekend

Athens packs 2,500 years of history into a compact centre: the Acropolis in the morning, a long taverna lunch in Plaka, sunset on a hill. Two days are enough for the classics, and the sea at Piraeus or the Riviera is a metro ride away.

What to see in two days

  1. Acropolis and the Parthenon
  2. Acropolis Museum
  3. Plaka and Anafiotika lanes
  4. Sunset from Lycabettus Hill
  5. Ancient Agora
